Bus Transportation: An express bus travels between Dar es Salaam and Arusha. The journey takes about 9 hours, with costs starting from USD 50. It is a very easy and comfortable journey that also highlights the beauty of Tanzania, showing the sights of Dar es Salaam and Arusha.

Bus transportation:
Alternatively, there is a coach mini bus travelling from Arusha to Nairobi several times a day; the journey takes about 6 hrs, the cost is USD 35. Contact http://riverside-shuttle.com/about.htm for more information and the ticket can be purchased if you arrive 30 min before the departure. The bus station is based in Arusha itself.

Visas

It is your responsibility to ensure you have reviewed the procedures for attaining the correct visa from the country of your passport. Information can be found from local High Commissions or Embassies and Visa agencies. If a letter of invitation is required please contact us now so we can make the appropriate arrangements or advise in some cases agencies that can help.

Please check visa requirements for your passport at your local High Commission/ Embassy. Citizens of most countries can receive a single tourist entry visa at the airport in both Kenya and Tanzania at 50 USD (there is a requirement to bring an exact amount of cash in USD; they won’t be able to give any change at the airport Customs). Please note that Visas are not issued at South African ports of entry. Your passport must also be valid for minimum period of 6 months from date of entry and you will need blank pages for the visas to be inserted. Please note that ISFA can’t be hold responsible for any information above re: the visa.



Health

Please also remember to check the travel health advice for the area. Yellow fever certificate is a requirement for travelling between Tanzania and Kenya, as you will be travelling from a country with a low risk. We advise you to contact your local travel advice clinic / doctor for advice and information, and to make sure you are up to date with any necessary vaccinations.
